Childfree-Affirming Therapy

In-person therapy for childfree women ready to stop explaining their life path, trust their choices, and live in a way that honors who they truly are.

As you go about your day, do you ever find yourself thinking…

“I don’t feel like I can share my true inner world without being rejected.”

You’re carrying so many complicated, conflicting feelings—and silencing parts of yourself to keep the peace. With some people, it’s just easier to stay quiet than risk being misunderstood. But over time, that silence can leave you feeling unseen and alone in your experience.

"It still feels taboo to say I don’t want kids."

Even when you’re certain, you never know how it will land. You’re bracing for the awkward pause, the subtle judgment, the assumption you’ll change your mind. And too often, the joy you feel in your choice gets twisted into a critique of motherhood."

"I’m out of sync with a lot of my peers and old friends."

You’re navigating new dynamics—figuring out where you fit and how much you want to be involved. The gap between lifestyles with and without kids can feel wide and unspoken. Even something as simple as hanging out doesn’t feel simple anymore.

“I’m angry that choice is even up for debate.”

There’s the quiet frustration of being questioned, and then there’s the fury of being politicized. It’s exhausting to keep defending a choice that should be yours alone. And the impact shows up everywhere—from your sense of safety to the way you move through the world.

What if you didn’t need to face all this alone anymore?

Your inner world is rich and deep–your therapy should be too. Our in-person sessions are a space to:

Show up as you are—without having to justify, apologize for, or soften your truth.

As your therapist, I have no assumptions about who you are or expectations of who you’re supposed to become. My role is to meet you during each session exactly as you are: someone who is layered, thoughtful, and always moving closer to a life that honors your unique path.

Express frustrations that don’t fit neatly into other people’s narratives.

Therapy is a place to explore the complicated feelings others might not understand. Like fury at living in a world where decisions about your body and future are still up for public debate. Or the overwhelming chaos of visiting a house full of kids, followed by the joy of returning to a house without them.

Build emotional clarity about what you want your life to be—without waiting for permission or approval.

Our sessions are a space to process and clear out residual guilt or old scripts that are still influencing you. And over time, you start listening inward again, trusting that your path doesn’t need to look like anyone else’s to be real, meaningful, and enough.

As a depth-oriented, psychodynamic therapist, I help you slow down and tune into what’s happening beneath the surface—emotionally, relationally, and somatically.

Instead of rushing to fix symptoms, we’ll get curious about what’s been avoided, what’s being repeated, and what your body already knows. This work is relational, intuitive, and collaborative. And over time, it helps you reconnect with and trust your clarity, your needs, and your inner voice.

Your Therapy Journey

While the steps you’ll take along your healing journey will be completely unique to you, here’s how our time together will generally unfold.

  • We have a conversation.

After meeting for a short consultation, we’ll see if it feels like a mutually good fit. No need to prepare or even know exactly what you need. Just show up as you are. If we decide to move forward together, we’ll schedule your first therapy session.

  • We co-create a space where you never have to justify your choices or preferences.

Our initial sessions are about making room for the real story of your life to emerge, and simply exist—without assumptions, apologies, or defenses. You don’t have to prove anything here. This is where we begin building trust by honoring where you are now, what you’ve carried, and what you haven’t always had permission to say aloud.

  • We explore the complicated feelings you’ve been unable to express.

Guilt, anger, sadness, pride, relief—there’s a wide, intense emotional spectrum that comes with living outside traditional scripts. Together, we’ll tend to the places where you’ve internalized shame, doubt, or loneliness around your choices. This isn’t about fixing you, though. It’s about helping you understand your emotional landscape with more clarity, compassion, and respect.

  • We reconnect you to inner clarity that doesn’t rely on external validation.

As we get deeper into our work, you’ll notice the influence of old scripts soften. You’ll start building more trust in your inner voice. You’ll start living from the truth of your life, not just the expectations you were handed. And over time, you’ll bring this grounded sense of self-trust to your relationships, your choices, and your future.

  • We keep building your life in ways that feel real, rich, and self-authored.

Once the noises of doubt, guilt, and old expectations get quieter, a new kind of work begins: the work of dreaming, creating, and expanding. Therapy becomes a place to explore what lights you up, what feels meaningful, and what you want to build moving forward—without apology. Not because you need to fix yourself, but because your life deserves that depth of care and attention.

FAQ

  • If you’re a woman who—either by choice or circumstance—does not have children, you might be navigating social pressures, battling family expectations, grieving past choices or loss, or simply wanting a space where you don’t have to explain or justify your decisions. This is that space.

  • Yes, I also work with parents—especially those who value depth-oriented therapy. If you're navigating identity, relationship dynamics, or emotional overwhelm (with or without kids), you're welcome here.

  • Not at all. Childfree-affirming therapy isn’t about excluding parents or being anti-child—it’s about honoring a valid life path that’s often misunderstood. In a culture that tends to center motherhood (and value it above other paths), this work offers space for those who’ve chosen a different path, or are still figuring it out, to feel seen, respected, and supported.

  • There are already countless therapy spaces for moms, but there aren’t many for childfree women. I see this as an important gap that deserves representation. These days, more and more women are choosing not to have children. At the same time, many women are having that choice restricted or taken away. The decision to become a parent (or not to) can bring up very real anxiety and questions, which we can explore together in this space.

  • I do not, as I’m considered an out-of-network provider. However, I am happy to provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. This can cover between 30% - 100% of your session cost, depending on your plan’s benefits.

Many plans offer out-of-network benefits that kick in after an out-of-network deductible is met. To determine your insurance company's reimbursement for out-of-network therapy, call and inquire about reimbursement for the code 90837.

Be sure to ask if you have a deductible to meet before your coverage begins.

You're also welcome to use your HSA or FSA account.

  • The rate for a 50-minute session is $250. Therapy is an investment in your growth, self-understanding, and emotional well-being. Our work together is designed to provide lasting insight and meaningful change—not just symptom management, but a deeper understanding of yourself and your patterns. If you’re ready to prioritize this kind of inner work, I’d love to connect.
